What is Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation is the surgical enhancement of the the breast for either aesthetic reasons or following medical treatment.

Breast augmentation or breast enlargement, is done by inserting breast implants into your natural breasts made of saline or silicone.

There are typically three different types of incision methods

• Periareolar incision: with this method, the surgeon will make the incision around the ‘areola’ ; this would be a good choice in the event a breast lift is also needed.
• Inframammary fold incision: this is the method where a tiny incision is made in the crease, as well as under the breast and in the inframammary fold. After-Care Treatment for Breast Augmentation In Turkey

We always recommend patients don’t consider going back to work for at least a week after a breast augmentation procedure. You will be given a surgical bra and you should take care to keep hydrated and wear loose fitted clothing.

You will come back from the theatre with a dressing over the site of the incision. You may have a waterproof dressing which stays over the wound until your first post-operative checkup.

It is still advisable that the patients who undergo this procedure will have a vacation or leave work to fully recover. It is recommended that they will stay at home for a couple of weeks before doing any household chores or heavy lifting. Some doctors also need to issue clearance to go to the gym for patients who need physical activities.

Moving too much when your skin is not yet healed can damage the tissues around the area wherein the implants were inserted so caution and rest is always advised.
