Love Island Stars Who Changed Their Mind on SurgeryIt’s no secret that many of the contestants on Love Island have had a helping hand from a surgeon or aesthetics practitioner.But many end up reversing or removing enhancements after the show as they change their mind on their appearance, receive hate comments from trolls and decide how they want to be portrayed in the public eye.Anna Vakili, from Love Island’s series 5, revealed her plans to reverse her £100,000 of plastic surgery, dentistry and treatments in 2021 after deciding she preferred her natural look over her cosmetic enhancements.She had a breast reduction and removed her previous implants, had her porcelain veneers removed and significantly reduced the amount of filler in her face.Vakili has said that the one thing she can’t give up is lip filler.One of the most famous filler reversals was when runner-up – and arguably one of the most successful celebs to come out of Love Island – Molly-Mae Hague had her jaw, lip, chin and cheek fillers dissolved due to an online backlash.She also had her composite bonds removed from her teeth, saying on her Instagram story: “I think I’ve taken all the steps that I want to take now in reversing all the mistakes I made with the fillers, getting things done that I didn’t necessarily need to get done and didn’t think through at the time, about two or three years ago.“I literally got the composite bonds that I had on my teeth two days before Love Island and I don’t regret it but it just wasn’t a necessary thing to do and I was just young.”Season 4’s Megan Barton-Hanson’s appearance in the show was one of the most scrutinised when it came to plastic surgery after it was revealed she had spent £40,000 on surgery and treatments before entering the villa.She has since had some procedures reversed – but hasn’t yet confirmed which – and has said that she regrets her surgery after undergoing therapy to become more confident and comfortable in herself and her appearance.Faye Winter, from season 7, had her lips dissolved and refilled using a new technique for different results. She says she has no plans to have any more filler or future cosmetic surgery, but she’s happy to continue to have botox.Shaughna Phillips, who entered the villa in season 6, also had her lip filler dissolved after having the procedure for eight years, telling her TikTok followers that she wanted to ‘practise what she preached’ after encouraging her followers to ‘separate their happiness from their body image’.Sharon Gaffka is another Love Islander who dissolved her lip filler, as well as reversing her brow microblading following her appearance on the show in season 7.She revealed “It’s no secret that my appearance has changed a lot since the summer. I’ve been very transparent about my whole journey, and where I want to go next! But the one thing I’m so glad I did.”AJ Bunker also ended up getting her cheek filler after finding out the procedure she had before she entered the villa in season 7 had been carried out incorrectly. She has also said she plans to have her lip fillers dissolved in future, following the recommendations of the doctor who dissolved her filler.Olivia Attwood, from Love Island’s season 3, had her breast implants removed and replaced to reduce their size in 2019 following troll comments who said her body needed an ‘MOT’. She has had no regrets about her decision, after getting her first boob job at the age of 19.Casa Amor bombshell Coco Lodge, who came into the villa midway through season 8, has had lip filler in the past but opted to get it dissolved due to migration. She later had them re-filled for a more natural pout.Coco has also had a nose job in the past which she’s expressed regrets about after trolls went into a frenzy about her appearance in the villa.
